Haunted Mansion Review Fun Starter Horror Movie

As someone without a pious love for Disneyland or a lot of passion for theme parks in general, I certainly don’t consider the bar particularly high for what a Movie based on The Haunted Mansion attraction should be. Since I only made the trip twice and was only in vacation mode (when it changes things up and adds a Nightmare Before Christmas theme), my hopes for a theatrical adaptation are more in line with the approach of the Genre–a desire for family fun just scary enough that the young audience Almost all references and Easter eggs are lost for me, so the experience boils down to offering a satisfying Paranormal Chaos with a good dose of silly that keeps the Tone bright.

These are all boxes ticked by the director Justin Simiens Haunted Mansion. On par with other modern child-oriented scary foods such as Eli Roth’s The House With a Clock In Its Walls, Rob Letterman’s Goosebumps and Anne Fletcher’s Hocus Pocus 2, it combines a talented and charismatic cast with a supernatural secret at the forefront of mature content, offering compelling characters, design and production effects It has its chaotic places, including an unclear idea of what to do with Owen Wilson and problems when the action moves away from the house holder, but let it work more than not.

Written by Katie Dippold, who has experience in the horror arena for all viewers after writing Ghostbusters in 2016, Haunted Mansion centers on Ben Matthias (LaKeith Stanfield), a genius astrophysicist who spent the last years of his life on land, unable to get up after a professional embarrassment and the passed away of his wife.He lives in New Orleans and gets by by leading ghost tours–although he does not believe in ghosts-but is otherwise lost in a deep get down.

All that changes when Father Kent (Owen Wilson) comes to her door looking for her help. After learning about the existence of a camera developed by Ben that can photograph dark matter, Kent asks him to help Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) and Travis (Chase Dillon) – a mother and son who have moved into a mansion that they claim is haunted by dozens of ghosts. The cynical Ben accepts the concert when he is offered and he quickly goes around the house without first recharging the battery of his camera… but he finds himself forced to return when a haunting ends, to follow him home.

The ensemble cast of Haunted Mansion delivers a mixed bag, but LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish and Danny DeVito stand out.
It shouldn’t be new to anyone at this point that LaKeith Stanfield is an exceptionally talented artist, as this year marks the tenth anniversary of her incredible breakout role in Destin Daniel Cretton’s short Term 12, but it is nevertheless impressive to see how far her career has progressed.now starring in a major summer release of He has the Charm that prevents his cynicism from being obnoxious, a range that brings the necessary Pathos that adds to the stakes of the film and a charisma that inspires you to witness Ben’s growth. Stanfield is the center of the movie, and he carries the weight effortlessly.
